Library gets 'wild'

The Wildlife Center of Virginia is bringing wild animals to all Fauquier County public libraries on Monday, June 25, as part of the Fauquier County Public Library Virginia Trails summer reading program for children of all ages. The live animal “ambassadors” will be typical of animals found along the Appalachian Trail.

The animals coming to the libraries will help children better understand problems that bring thousands of animals to the center for care each year: litter, loss of habitat, pesticides, diseases, and free-roaming domestic animals. Understanding the animals’ problems also provides insight into the environmental health of our communities.

Registration is not required for the free programs, but you can start participating in the Virginia Trails summer reading program immediately.
