Biologists to speak on oceans

It's just days away from the library's first Hook a Book special event: Under the Sea. Biologists from Under the Sea, an organization dedicated to presenting educational programs on aquatic life, will be visiting all Fauquier County public libraries on Saturday, June 19.

The free event, sponsored by the Friends of the Fauquier Library, is part of the county library’s summer reading program for children, but the whole family is invited to this fascinating program.

Learn about crabs, waves, tides, and other awesome things, including such creatures as the small sea animal that sits on its head and eats microscopic food with its curled feet. Under the Sea instructors will stress the importance of conservation and suggest actions that students can take to reverse the impact of humans on the marine environment.

Get details on the Submerge Yourself program for teens. Register for the Hook a Book or Submerge Yourself.
