Summer programs help curb learning loss, are fun too

Research indicates that students experience significant learning losses during the summer months, but that children who read during the summer retain reading and learning skills better than those who don't.

To curb learning loss, and for fun, Fauquier County Public Library is presenting two free summer reading programs this year (courtesy of the Friends of the Fauquier Library): Hook a Book for children and Submerge Yourself @ Your Library for teens (students entering sixth grade or higher).

Registration for the programs begins Tuesday, June 1, at all Fauquier libraries and on the library website.
