Friends of Film group forming

The Friends of Film, a new group forming at the Warrenton Library, is for people who are interested in viewing and discussing films of all kinds; from old silent moves to the latest thrillers; from cartoons to documentaries.

The first meeting will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Nov. 15, in the library program room and will feature the film Citizen Kane. The 2-hour film is based on the life of publishing tycoon William Randolph Hearst and has been called one of the greatest movies of all time. (Research William Randolph Hearst through Biography in Context.)

With the month's election events, we’re sure to be in the right frame of mind for this rags-to-riches tale tracing the rise of publishing mogul Charles Foster Kane. The 1940s film will raise issues that are still of concern to us today, so plan to stay after the movie and talk about your impressions. Light snacks and beverages will be provided courtesy of the Friends of the Fauquier Library.
