Teens learn ‘money smarts’ at library

All Fauquier County Public Library branches are hosting a workshop designed to help teens learn basic money management skills, such as long term saving, investing, spending wisely, and giving to the community.

The Money Smarts for Teens workshop - presented by The Fauquier Bank and Oak View National Bank (with the support of the Friends of the Fauquier Library and a grant from Library of Virginia) - will deliver much-needed information that is especially important for teens who wish to plan for a secure economic future.

Participants will exercise their financial skills through the use of activities and games and will receive a “Moon Jar Money Box’ to help put into practice their newly honed skills.

The free workshop repeats at different times and locations to ensure everyone gets an opportunity to attend. Registration is required; call your library to reserve a spot.

Workshops will be presented at:
Bealeton Library: 5:30 p.m. Tues., Oct. 4, and at 3 p.m. Sat., Oct. 15
Warrenton Library: 1:30 p.m. Sat., Oct. 15, and 6:30 p.m. Mon., Oct. 24
