Virginia Breast Cancer Foundation donates books to library

October is Breast Cancer Month. Fauquier County Public Library recently received a grant from the Virginia Breast Cancer Foundation to purchase current materials about various aspects of breast cancer. Some of the new titles added to the collection include:
  • Breast Cancer: The Path to Wellness and Healing, a 2-disc set DVD with interviews of celebrity breast cancer survivors Christina Applegate, Sheryl Crow, Olivia Newton-John, among others, who join America’s top cancer doctors and wellness experts, Dr. Susan Love, Dr. Dean Ornish among others. Disc 2 includes suggestions for stress reduction and anxiety, and ways to boost your immune system.
  • From Zero to Mastectomy by Jackie Fox describes her journey when diagnosed with ductal carcinoma in situ.
  • What Helped Me Get Through: Cancer Survivors Share Wisdom and Hope is full of first-hand accounts of how survivors coped with the many aspects of facing this disease.
  • Living Well Beyond Breast Cancer contains crucial information about the revolutionary medical advances in follow-up testing, ongoing treatments, and recovery from breast cancer.

Check the library catalog for more Virginia Breast Cancer Foundation titles or fiction and nonfiction titles related to breast cancer.
