Brooksie Wells helps us celebrate

Critically acclaimed musician and songwriter  Brooksie Wells will appear at all Fauquier County public libraries on Saturday, Aug. 11 to help Fauquier families celebrate another wonderful summer of reading and fun.

Everyone is invited to the free concert, which is sponsored by Friends of the Fauquier Library, and to sing along as we say "Goodbye" to summer. Concert times are:
Discovered by Bobby Darin, Brooksie wrote for years for Chappel Music, with several of her songs used in recordings and movie soundtracks. She later recorded with John Lennon's band Elephant's Memory and as a singer with Kid Creole and the Coconuts. While raising two kids in the early 1990s she became an international children's performer, recording Rainbow Family and Brooksie's Kid Songs.

This free event if part of the Dream Big summer reading program for children of all ages. Get more information about the summer events for children, teens, and adults at the library. (Children and teens can register now and begin recording the number of books read each week.)

Reminder: The last day to log the number of books read is Aug. 11.
