Happy Anniversary Bealeton Depot!

This month marks the second anniversary of the grand opening of the renovated Bealeton Depot, which is part of the Fauquier County Public Library system and sits adjacent to the Bealeton Library. The library opened the doors to the long-awaited Bealeton Depot community room on Nov. 13, 2010.

The depot has been used for numerous library programs and by civic groups, sports organizations, churches and businesses. The community, according to Library Director Maria Del Rosso, has responded to having an accessible meeting space outfitted with the latest technology to conduct meetings, training sessions, or celebrations.

“We’re so pleased that the community is making good use of the depot. It reaffirms the Library Board’s vision that this lovely turn-of-the 20th century building would once again be a gathering place for southern Fauquier residents,” Mrs. Del Rosso says. Many in the community remembered the depot’s earlier days when the railroad figured prominently in the history and economic development of southern Fauquier County.
