Rotary supports library's geography collection for children

The Warrenton Rotary Club recently made a donation that enables Fauquier County Public Library to enhance its children’s geography and world culture sections at all of the county’s public libraries.

The donation, in keeping with Rotary’s mission to advance world understanding, puts more books about the world into the hands of Fauquier children — something that would otherwise be difficult for the library to do right now because of its reduced book budget.

The donation supplements a Warrenton Rotary Club donation made in 2009 for the purchase of the Scholastic Press’ Enchantment of the World series of books for children.

“I am thrilled that the Rotary Club is helping the library put books about world culture into the hands of Fauquier children,” says Library Director Maria Del Rosso. “As a past recipient of a Rotary International scholarship, I especially appreciate Rotary’s mission to advance world understanding. The partnership between Fauquier County Public Library and the Rotary Club is ideal since both work to connect people to the world.”

Library locations are: Warrenton Library; Bealeton Library; and John Marshall Library, Marshall. Call (540) 422-8500 for more information.
