Library System Outage

The library's automated library system, including the online catalog, will be offline/inaccessible on Wednesday, March 13. While maintenance is being performed on the server, the library will be using its back-up system, which necessitates the following guidelines:
  • You must have your library card (versus driver's license) in order to borrow items;
  • We will be unable to place holds during this time;
  • We will be unable to renew items during this time;
  • We will not be checking in items until after the system is back online;
  • We will be unable to take monies for overdue fines or fees on your account;
  • Online catalog - Holdings information and the ability to log in to update account information, place holds or search for items will be unavailable while the system is offline. During the outage, you can search for holdings via OCLC's WorldCat;
  • The mobile catalog will be unavailable;
  • The telephone renewal system will be unavailable;
  • Library public computers - Only guest passes (vs. library card numbers) will be used during the outage. Please bring your library card or a photo ID to be issued a guest pass for Wed., March 13.
The library's wireless Internet access, websiteonline databases and interlibrary loans will NOT be affected during the system outage.

If there are any changes to outage schedule, we will update this blog post as well as post updates to Twitter and Facebook. We appreciate your understanding while the library upgrades the system.

Yoga for Teens

What better way to banish the winter blues than a relaxing and rejuvenating yoga session? Certified instructor Rita Evans will offer a special introduction to basic yoga at all Fauquier County Public Library locations in February.
Yoga is an ancient science that allows the mind and body to work in harmony. The exercises and poses build strength, flexibility, balance and concentration. Having studied yoga for more than 20 years, Mrs. Evans believes that yoga enhances an individual’s physical, mental and spiritual alignment. It’s also a popular activity for health, fitness and fun!

Teen Advisory Group (TAG) members and students in 6th grade or higher are invited. Wear comfortable clothes, bring a mat or towel and come prepared for an enlightening experience.
  • Bealeton Library: 4 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 12
  • John Barton Payne Bldg.: 4:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 25
  • Marshall Library: 5 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 26
