Health Insurance Marketplace Information Sessions offered by FCPL

The Fauquier County Public Library is teaming with ENROLL Virginia to present information sessions later this month on the Affordable Care Act (ACA) and the new online health insurance plans available through the federal Health Insurance Marketplace. The sessions will help consumers and small business owners become familiar with the options available through the marketplace and the enrollment process to obtain health insurance. ENROLL Virginia is a non-partisan organization, created by the Virginia Poverty Law Center and legal aid programs throughout Virginia.
Sessions are free to the public; no registration is required.

Sessions will be held:

  • Monday, October 21, 7 – 9 p.m. at the Bealeton Depot, 10877 Willow Drive North, Bealeton
The Fauquier County Public Library, like other public libraries throughout the United States, is a key access point to health information for the community. Libraries anticipate an increased demand for these services with establishment of the Health Insurance Marketplace. The Institute of Museum and Library Services is collaborating with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services and other agencies to ensure that librarians are prepared to connect the public with ACA information and resources.

The Patient Protection and Affordable Healthcare Act went into effect on October 1, 2013. Under the law, most Americans will be required to have health insurance by March, 2014. Some exceptions apply.
