Celebrate! Bealeton Library Marks 10 Years at Willow Drive

Join us as we celebrate the 10-year anniversary of the Bealeton Library at its Willow Drive location!

To kick-off the celebration, an Open House and "Train Ride Through Time" exhibit will be held Saturday, January 25 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, January 26 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

The Bealeton Library started modestly in a small space in the Bealeton Village Shopping Center, but as it expanded and its role in the community grew, it became clear it needed more room. In January 2004 the library on Willow Drive opened with 10,000 square feet and a dynamic collection of 50,000 items.

Over the years, the Bealeton Library has provided the community with more than access to
books. Each winter, the library hosts a visit with Santa and lighting of the community Christmas tree, which was donated by the Southern Fauquier Business Association. The event attracted over 200 children and their families this past year.

The iconic Bealeton Depot sits next to the library, and memorializes the areas railroad roots. The charming Depot now provides space for a variety of uses, including library programs and meeting space for private and community events.

Another much-beloved feature at the Bealeton Library is Mr. Tree, a large-as-life feature of the Bealeton Library's children's room, designed and built by talented artist and library volunteer, Donna Rose.

A wide array of programs are offered to the community free of charge - from story times for children to book clubs for adults. Weekly tutoring is provided by Liberty High School National Honor Society students for elementary and middle-school students. GED classes are also offered. A complete listing of programs and events can be found on the library calendar.

The Bealeton Library provides free use of computers with Internet access and Microsoft Office applications, as well as free WiFi. The Bealeton Library is also home to the Cooperating Collection of the Foundation Center, which provides grant seekers access to the collection and online database free of charge.

Stay tuned for more information about monthly events to commemorate the anniversary of the Bealeton Library at Willow Drive!
